Conan's parents came for a visit a couple weeks ago and spent a whole week with us! We had such a great time! We decided not to tell the boys they were coming. We wanted it to be a big surprise, and a big surprise it was! You can imagine the surprised/puzzled expressions on their faces as Grandma and Grandpa Parke sneeked around the living room doorway while the boys watched cartoons!
We did so many fun activities together. One morning we walked around a lake behind Wellesley College.
Edie got a piggy back ride from Daddy
while Asher
and Tennyson got dunked in the water! Well, not quite. Conan only pretended too. Tennyson was all for it, but Asher was TERRIFIED of getting wet!
It was a slow process, but Eden finally warmed up to Grandma and Grandpa and by the end of the trip, they were buds.
Near the end of our little hike, we saw a beautiful swan gliding so peacefully in the water.
That afternoon we took Grandma and Grandpa candlepin bowling. We split in to two teams. Tennyson beat Grandma and Grandpa--no joke! He was pretty good. Asher, Conan and I were on the other team. Conan won our game, but Asher came in at a close second. Candlepin bowling is harder than it looks folks! I think it pretty funny that the boys scored more points than the adults (and we weren't "letting" them win!)
On another day we drove down to Cape Cod (a.k.a. "the Cape" by all the locals!) and spent the morning at Heritage Plantation strolling through their gardens and riding the carousel.
This was Edie-Girl's first time on a carousel and she was all-smiles the entire time!
We couldn't head back home from the Cape without first visiting the beach.
Tennyson took this picture (his first time taking a picture by himself might I add!) of Asher and me in front of the Nauset Lighthouse. We are missing the top of the lighthouse in the picture, but that's okay--I figure you've all seen a lighthouse before! haha
Edie got this bubble machine as an early birthday present from Grandma and Grandpa Parke. She loved it!
Last but not least, the boys helped Grandma make homemade rolls to go with my wonderful birthday dinner she made for me.
Thanks for visiting Mom and Dad! We had so much fun with you both! We love you!!

Does little Edie have curls? I'm seriously dying how adorable she is. Didn't you love the Cape?
Time with grandma & grandpa are the best. Glad you had such a nice visit.
