Hurricane Sandy

Asher and Tennyson watching Hurricane Sandy out our bedroom window.

Hurricane Sandy hit us on Monday, October 29th.  We were far enough inland that we didn't need to worry about flooding.  We did, however, worry about high winds and losing electricity.  Thankfully, neither posed a problem.  Our neighbor lost quite a few shingles off his roof (one of which cracked the windshield of another neighbor's brand new truck) and a fence was blown away from a house down the street. The house lights dimmed a couple times, but thankfully our power stayed on.  That's more than I can say for several others in our area, and especially for so many of our friends in Philadelphia.  We were quite lucky.

We didn't let Hurricane Sandy get in the way of our Halloween festivities.  Our friends hosted a Halloween party for the kids in the afternoon which was the perfect activity since everyone had been hunkered down all morning.  The children played games and got A LOT of energy out.
