We were supposed to be in Las Vegas these past two weeks visiting with Conan's brother and his family, but it didn't quite pan out. Conan was supposed to attend a work-related conference in Vegas for four days. The kiddos and I decided we'd tag along and turn it into a family vacation. Afterall, let's be honest...do you really think I would be okay letting Conan go to nice, warm Vegas while he left myself and the kids here in this freezing cold weather!? Yeah, not happening!! haha Our kiddos were really looking forward to playing with their cousins and I was looking forward to some down-time as well. We were supposed to fly out the night 'Blizzard 2013' struck. Our flight was cancelled and rescheduled for two days later in the a.m. Long story short, that flight also got cancelled due to the snow. We were finally re-scheduled to fly out two days later on a Tuesday, but given the fact that Conan would have missed two days of a work-related conference he was going to attend and the fact that we had already lost four days off our vacation, we decided (grudgingly) to just cancel our entire trip!!
The kids were devasted as well as myself. We had been looking forward to this trip for nearly a year. Since the airlines gave us a full refund, we decided to lift the boys' spirits (as well as Conan and mine) and use some of the money we got back to take the kids to an overnight stay at 'Cocoa Keys'--an indoor waterpark resort only 20 minutes away from us!! We stayed in a nice hotel that has the waterpark attached to it. The staff keeps the waterpark at a nice balmy 83 degrees and the water is so so warm. I was in heaven! To say the kids had a blast is an understatement.
Tennyson 'chill-axin' in his bed!
Dinner-time inside the waterpark. We even splurged and let the kids have soda!
Eden and Asher splashing away.
Asher
Our hotel/waterpark package included arcade giftcards which the boys thoroughly loved.
Eden and Asher loved snuggling, wiggling and jumping all over the bed!
Where's Eden hiding??
There she is! (she loved that game)
Tennyson and Conan. Tenn LOVED going down the big water slides!
She loves to stick her tongue out. What a ham!
We even bought the boys cotton candy! Soda and cotton candy all in one day...I know...we are bad parents!
We had a FANTASTIC time! That said, our summer Vegas vacation plans had better not get ruined!!!
